The older we get, the more we realize that it is more the little things in life that mean the most to us. There is something that has been in my life since I was 4 years old and it was a huge expense for my parents, but it has also meant a lot to me. Motocross is one of the most important parts of my life and it is still something that I will continue to do until I possibly cannot and will pass it on to my children one day. But now that I’m older and have taken over the financial aspect of the sport, I realize how expensive everything is for that sport.

There will always be a “bad side” in everything we do in life. With motocross, it seems like a very steep mountain of money to climb. For starters, there are the bikes you use, protective gear, and bike parts that will cost from $ 5,000 when you were a kid to $ 15,000 when you have the biggest bikes. Along with those costs, you will also pay for fuel to travel to the races, fees to enter the races, and hotel or camper fees if you have a camper. As the bad side goes for a sport that is the financial side of motocross. These costs add up over the years of obtaining new bikes, equipment, and parts. This could affect you and your family financially.

Although there is a major downside to motocross, I must say that the great part of motocross is the big and small parts that it will give you in life. Like I said before, I have been racing and riding dirt bikes since I was 4 years old. This sport has been a big part of my life and it will be for the rest. Motocross is the part of me that will always bring out the adrenaline junkie and little boy who is trying to fly and be what he imagines superstars to be. Motocross has given me the sensation of flying and the crushing sensation of being pushed towards the ground at high speed. These good and bad feelings are something that I would never trade for anything. There is nothing more liberating than being on your bike, be it on a track, trails or just in the middle of an open field and being able to go where you want or as fast as you want. The feeling you get when you fly 50 feet off the ground and 150 feet away is like nothing else. It’s almost like I have motocross running through my veins and I only feel this good and clear when I’m on my dirt bike. After riding for so long, it feels like the bike is an extension of you. There is always the great feeling of winning races or championships, but these feelings that come over you when you drive are the most important thing to me.

Another rewarding aspect of sport is watching young children grow up and love the sport as much as I did when I was growing up. It’s always nice to be able to help the younger generation improve by giving them advice or helping them overcome their fears. Motocross has a special way of connecting all your family and friends. Not only does your family get closer, but with this sport you can get closer to everyone in the motocross community as you ride, ride and compete with them. Motocross is something that takes everything out of you and allows you to grow as a person and that is worth every penny to me.
