One of the most formidable and powerful factions to ever appear in perhaps any of the World of Warcraft games is definitely the faction known as the Argent Crusade. In WoW’s most recent expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, that faction will play a vital role. Early Crusade formation will be part of the quests for the Death Knights, a new hero class in Wrath of the Lich King. So what makes the faction a force to be reckoned with? A look back at the history and formation of this faction will tell us.

In truth, the Argent Crusade is not a single faction, but rather a mix of three factions already famous and legendary in the world of WoW. Given that each of these three factions was already powerful in their own right before joining the new faction, it’s no surprise that what emerged from the union of the three is a group that even the Lich King would think twice about. Below you will find the three factions that make up the Argent Crusade. I have also included a brief description of each faction.

* Argent Dawn: One of Azeroth’s most enduring legal organizations. The Argent Dawn has long watched over Azeroth. Anyone can join this faction, as long as they are totally against evil.

* Scarlet Crusade: The strength of this faction lies in the fact that they truly believe in their power or right to rid the world of evil, especially the Undead, to the point of resembling fanaticism. Still, even if its means are dubious, the Scarlet Crusade remains one of the most powerful factions on Azeroth.

* Knights of the Silver Hand: An order of the most powerful paladins, this faction was formed during the First War by the legendary paladin Uther Lightbringer.

The Argent Crusade is a union of the three mighty factions. The seeds of the faction were formed in the battle for Light’s Hope Chapel, where Tirion Fording defeated the Lich King himself and gathered members of all three factions to do battle with him. With the enduring strength of the Argent Dawn, the unshakable faith of the Scarlet Crusade, and the might of the Knights of the Silver Hand, the Crusade will strike fear into any who dare face it.
