See the world through a different lens

Do you think everything happens for a reason? I have asked many people this question over the years and they all have a different answer. Some will say that life works by itself and that there is a higher power that organizes the events of our life. This could describe a deterministic point of view, while an atheist will believe otherwise. One thing is for sure, we are on a journey through life that ebbs and flows. Sometimes we get stuck and it can seem like things are not going according to plan. We struggle to get out of this state, when all that is required is to accept our circumstances. Reality echoes the level of our consciousness at any moment. So as we learn more, our consciousness expands and we experience life in a different way.

Can you identify with this? For example, you may have had a belief about something, and through setbacks and disappointments, did you become aware of a new perspective? Your new perspective is not your end point because things change as you learn more. In fact, our work never ends and we can only carry our personal evolution so far. Depending on our level of consciousness, we attract circumstances based on our beliefs. Recently, I upgraded my computer’s HDD to a new SSD (Solid State Drive). An SSD uses integrated circuits to store data, rather than mechanical components, like a hard drive. Most older computers have a hard drive installed, while newer computers have an SSD drive.

An SSD drive is considerably faster and more efficient because it has no moving parts. My computer now starts (boots up) in 8 seconds, whereas previously it took 40 seconds or more to boot. The point I want to emphasize is that since I updated my record, I have been able to do my job more efficiently. This explains what happens when we raise our consciousness; We see the world through a different lens that improves the quality of our life. We make better decisions that affect our relationships and other areas of our life.

With purpose in our actions

Most people take an outside-in approach to changing their circumstances. But this approach rarely works because if you don’t pay attention to your inner thoughts, you will revert to your old patterns. Our past has a way of following us, like the wake of a water skier. This is why some believe that we live in a holographic universe, whereby our inner world creates our outer world. Then, everything that is destined for us will find its way to us, depending on our level of consciousness. If there is one thing I want to impress you in this article, it is this: as you work on yourself, you will attract better circumstances and will not call it destiny. Those who say things are as they are take a fatalistic view that some higher power is pulling the strings. But I believe that through the power of free will, we create the conditions of our life.

So how can you make adjustments to reflect the ideas proposed in this article? Keep improving yourself by improving your beliefs as you learn more. Challenge beliefs and find evidence to support them. Don’t take anything for granted, even if it’s something you’ve believed in all your life. As you learn more, you see life through a different lens. It will challenge your ingrained beliefs about what you thought was true. But something miraculous happens; you will attract wonderful circumstances aligned with the highest truth.

This process called life is an inside-out job. I have seen evidence personally and in my work with clients. As we learn and grow, we make informed decisions that lead to a fuller life. We stop living as victims and become victorious because our choices are aligned with our highest intentions. We become determined in our actions and we stop bemoaning our wrong decisions. As in the example of my computer running more efficiently with an SSD drive, I can get my work done in less time because the computer is better equipped for the job. So I ask you: are you willing to improve your thoughts? Are you willing to examine entrenched beliefs and find the evidence to support them? I assure you that what must be will always find its way to you, regardless of whether your thoughts are aligned with truth or falsehood. It’s up to you!
