Atomstack X7 Pro has many built in safety options which makes it a good choice for people looking to invest into an engraving machine. In terms of safety, there are limit switches installed on both axis to prevent accidental collisions, as well as a movable focus piece to help in focusing the laser beam. There is also an air assist that can be purchased separately which helps to vent smoke and particles from the work area, and is a must for those who are going to cut hard materials such as wood.
The machine is capable of cutting 3 mm and 6 mm thick poplar plywood in multiple passes at a speed of 600 mm/min. However, it does struggle with harder materials, as it requires a lot of power to cut and often loses control. This is due to the dot’s rectangular shape rather than circular which makes it more difficult to maintain a constant position.
When it comes to engraving, the X7 is very capable. It is able to engrave text very well, and even manages to do so in a few layers. It can etch a photo fairly well although it does look a little less detailed than the Sculpfun S6 Pro due to a larger spot size. It is also capable of etching vector images which are much faster to engrave than raster images.

Additionally, the X7 does not come with an exhaust system, so you will need to purchase and install an external one to avoid a buildup of smoke in your workspace.
