Everything we do is for money. Most of our goals in life are colored by money. Most of the problems we face are caused by money or the lack of it. We seem concerned about getting money.

If money is so important to us, why do we waste it? Why do we give away so much instead of saving it for our families? We say we hate taxes, yet many of us do little or nothing to reduce them. Take for example the Inheritance Tax. You still don’t have to pay it, so many of our children are forced to pay Inheritance Tax. In the old days it used to be called death duties. When it comes to giving away money we are like lambs to the slaughter.

Let me ask you these questions:

1. Have you made a will?

2. Have you established trusts?

3. Have you taken out any Life Insurance?

4. Have you contracted any Critical Illness Coverage?

5. Have you protected your income against layoff?

If you haven’t, I bet you have great excuses not to.

Now for those of us who have a mortgage I want to ask;

Have you protected the lender who gave you the mortgage in the first place?

If you answered NO to any of the first five questions, you may have failed to protect yourself, your family, and your wages. If you then answer YES to the question in bold, you may be saying that you are more concerned with a lender than with yourself, your family, and your income. I bet you’re not!

Most of us will have Buildings and Contents Insurance to protect our belongings against things like fire or theft. Most of us will own a car that we have no problem insuring against accidents, but for whatever reason we seem reluctant to protect ourselves and our families. I wonder why it is so.

By speaking with a financial advisor, you can identify any shortfalls in your family protection portfolio and then address these shortfalls. do it today. Take a wealth test. You may be pleasantly surprised.
