The only real downside to this material is that melamine tops are subject to possible swelling with prolonged exposure to water. This only happens if water finds its way between the joints in the protective PVC sheathing, if this happens the particle board underneath can swell.

Duco Supawood doors are manufactured by pre-treating flat or molded supawood panels. After that, they go through a spray painting process using enamel paint. At the end of the process, a high-quality matte, mid-gloss or high-gloss finish is obtained.

These boards are available in just about every color imaginable, making them very popular for use in creating kitchens and all other BICs. A duco spray finish would more accurately be described as lustrous and elegant.
