Definition of PRIDE

Pride is an inordinate self-esteem; an unreasonable conception of one’s superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, achievement, rank, or elevation in office, manifested in high airs, distance, reserve, and often contempt for others.

Synonyms for pride: haughty, haughty, arrogant, conceited, selfishness, honor, elite, self-importance, self-love, vanity, conceited, be proud of, boast, boast, congratulate oneself, flatter, boast, be proud.

The more I walk with the Lord, the more I feel the difference of what sin does to my heart. When sin seeps into my heart, it is like poison to my soul. I can go from having a joyful heart to having a heavy load on my heart in no time. I hate it. I can not stand it. Sometimes the pain feels too much to bear. It is a gap in my spirit that totally consumes my mind, body and soul. I cannot operate well when I know I have a hidden sin. I know there is a reason for this heavy burden, pain, and confusion in my heart. God is working to make me a new creation and give me a new heart that no longer likes sin.

It is a very painful process when you begin to realize that there is sin in your heart. It is probably the most difficult understanding you will ever have. The pain, agony, stress, and confusion that comes from acknowledging sin in your heart and admitting to God and people that you have offended is very difficult, especially if the sin has been there for a while. The process can be long, painful, and sometimes longer than you would have liked, but it feels so good when it’s over. You feel so much better and lighter when you finish, and you get stronger.

As much as my flesh does not want my sin to be shown to it, God makes my heart want my sin to be shown to it so that I can grow stronger and healthier spiritually. I’ve started to hate sin more because I can’t bear to take the poison. The magnitude of my own sin against God and all the consequences that result from my sin are increasingly difficult to swallow. The cleansing process is also becoming increasingly difficult as I pick up the pieces of the destruction that my sin has caused to myself and others.

When sin enters your heart, it begins to pour poison on you, and the only way you can prevent it from taking over your body and causing an epidemic is to cry out to God in repentance for help, forgiveness, and mercy.

Pride is usually the root cause of most sins in our lives.

Examples of the sin of pride include:

• Comparison of myself with others
• Extravagance
• Wrong priorities with oneself, OUR APPEARANCE (hair gel in men, look at me worldly, tight clothing, makeup, etc.)
• Difficulty showing love to others.
• Difficulty forgiving others
• Pride will steal your joy
• Pride will ignite anger in you
• Pride will allow you to destroy your family, your marriage, and your relationships.
• When i don’t trust god
• When i fear the future
• When i’m holding something against someone
• Whenever I think I have the right to do something
• When I think I have control over a situation or a person
• When I think I should be in control, I am saying that my own opinion is worth more than the gods or anyone else’s.
• When I worry, I tell God that his plan is not good enough to I trust
• When I think I deserve more in life: title, money, promotion, bigger house, better car
• When I put myself higher than others and I put them down and treat them as if they were not worthy to be in my presence.
• Pride assures us that we were not so bad and that our sins are not so bad
• Pride tells us that our sin is not really sin but normal, that everyone else does
• Pride will make us agree to receive assistance or help for our sin, but not to surrender our sin.
• Pride will cause us to act in a very respectable and moral way on the outside so that the world, our friends, our family, and even ourselves do not have to deal with the reality of our sinful misconduct and negative attitudes of disgust, pain, and harshness. . , and uproar that will result from the truth being known.
• Pride will fight to do better, it will make us cry for our sin, but it will not deliver us from the destruction of our sins.
• Pride does not understand why God calls us sinners
• Pride will not give God his rightful place in our lives; It will allow us to continue to put family, friends, hobbies and entertainment first, especially television (just get rid of the television broadcast, regret seeing all the filth in it). , save your soul and your families! Hates it !!!!

Proverb 8:13 – The fear of the Lord [is] abhor evil: pride and arrogance, evil way and perverse mouth, I abhor.

Proverbs 6: 16-19 – 16 These six [things] hates the LORD: yes, seven [are] abomination to him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that quotes wicked imaginations, feet that rush to run to evil, 19 A false witness [that] He speaks a lie, and he who sows discord among brothers.

Repentance of pride

1) Submit to god Get back under His authority and repent of your sins.

two) Resist the devil Make it your heart not to defile yourself anymore, win, and quote the Scriptures as temptations arise.

3) Get closer to God Spend more time in His word and in prayer, examine your sin and its consequences for your own life and that of others.

4) Cleanse your hands from sin Stop any activity that makes you continue in sin, no matter how drastic it may be (avoid places, avoid situations that promote your sin, change jobs, get rid of the internet, television, etc.)

Also, Cleanse your hands of sin by humbling yourself and admitting your sin to those you have offended. This is very important to have a clear conscience and free yourself from the cycle of your sin.

5) Purify your double-minded heart. Chapter one of James warns us not to ask God for things that we are not really sure we want him to give us. Ask yourself if I really want God to humble me. Do I really want to change? Do I really want to deal with the pain, humiliation, and consequences of my sin? Do I really want to be holy? Do I really want to hate sin and love the things of God?
