There are several symptoms that people experience when they are intolerant to yeast. When someone is intolerant to yeast, it means that their body is producing more candida, or yeast. In reality, we all have a level of bacteria in each of our bodies. However, the good bacteria we have must keep the bad bacteria in our bodies in check. When the bad beats the good, then there is a problem. Wait, it’s not the end of the world! It simply means that you have to adjust the foods you are eating to maintain a healthy and symptom-free life! How does that sound?

In essence, if someone continues to eat a highly refined, sugary, yeast-rich diet, that is the food the yeast needs to grow at high speed. Let’s start by identifying some symptoms.

1) You have muscle pain, joint pain, sluggishness and depression – all of these listed items go together. You may feel this way, but I promise you there is a way to eliminate these symptoms. When you start eating the right foods, and perhaps add a little exercise, your mood and attitude will change completely. You’ll feel more energized when you start living your yeast-free life.

2) Weight gain: Too much yeast in the system is that we are probably eating too many yeast-containing foods. Mushrooms often thrive on simple sugars, bread, and crackers. They also thrive on fermented foods like yogurt, cheese, and alcohol. For the most part, a person in good health can keep yeast under control, but if the immune system is weakened by illness or stress, the fungus can grow rapidly. Typical foods that contain yeast are the ones that tend to add those extra pounds.

3) Chronic Yeast Infections: Yeast infections can occur in both men and women. Others may experience something called thrush, which is a yeast infection that occurs in the mouth. White spots in the mouth and on the tongue will be present in the event of a thrust. Push happens to babies because their immune systems are not strong enough to fight or control the growth of the yeast.

4) “Hangover” symptoms: a person who has excessive amounts of yeasts, which are also fungi, in their system will produce alcohol-like substances that enter the bloodstream and intoxicate the brain. Thus, mental fog, memory problems, lack of concentration and attention disorders can occur. Surprisingly, a person with an intolerance to yeast can have many of the same symptoms as an alcoholic; pretty much an addiction and craving for yeast. The proverbial sweet tooth. Is this an addiction? Some may argue yes.

5) Diarrhea and/or Constipation

There are a few other yeast intolerance symptoms. If you experience any of these symptoms, don’t worry or panic or throw yourself a pity party. You may also be experiencing one or two of these symptoms, and very minimally. Whether your case is mild or severe, you can get rid of some of the uncomfortable feelings that go along with these symptoms fairly quickly by avoiding some foods in your diet. Some people go six to eight weeks on a yeast-free diet to completely cleanse their bodies of yeast. If you don’t want to be so drastic, you can start cutting some foods out of your diet and slowly integrating them into your life from time to time.
